Springroll

Hi I’m Adeline Tje, right now living in Seoul, South Korea as master student and researcher. Previously, I was employed in a food company. I am Indonesian, have one big sister, cool father, smart mother, and a fat shihtzu dog.

I’m a granddaughter of a master springroll, that’s why I love springroll so much… the fact that I love eating so much maybe also came from this history.

My grandparents open a resturant or cafe (kedai) called Lumpia Jakarta ( Jakarta Springroll). and I always think that’s life is like a springroll, wrap it carefully, cook it in the right way, pour the chilly nut sauce to make it a little bit chilly , and eat it hot. The chilly taste, thin skin , savory meat, and fresh veggy will taste heavenly.

That’s what we want in life, right? a little bit complicated at the start, do it right, blend of sadness and happiness, then a heavenly ending.
